Some Helpful Employment Interview Tips
Don't smoke, chew gum, or eat garlic from the night before.
Wear acceptable interview clothes.
Take copies of your CV with you.
Arrive on time for your employment interview.
Any applications handed before the interview begins, are to be filled in as accurately as possible, make sure they match the information in your resume and Cover Letter.
Always greet the interviewer by his/her family name and seek to pronounce it properly.
Have a good firm handshake.
Be alert and involved. Scan the room once at the beginning and then keep your eyes on the interviewer.
Wait until you are offered a chair before you sit down.
Focus your accomplishments.
Always conduct yourself professionally and if anything beyond your control occurs, show a sense of humour.
Be enthusiastic and display it in your replies and body language.
Answer the interview question by more than a simple yes or no but try not to go over the 60 second limit.
Avoid at all costs complainingNever complain about your present or previous employer in your job interview.
Never answer questions about political issues or religion if the post is entirely unrelated.
Do not raise remuneration discussions on your first interview - this is usually done on a later interview. Ensure that you do your wage research before hand.
